New Hope Trade School Helps Students Join Workforce
A New Hope trade school is helping students get a head start on joining the workforce.
According to Dave Lynnes, founder and president of Lynnes Welding Training, trade schools like his can offer a quick route to a well-paying job.
“There’s such a high demand for welders right now that usually if our students are wanting to go to work after training, they can find some jobs,” Lynnes said. “And we do help with job placement.”
A course at Lynnes lasts about four months.
The school hosted a tour this week with the New Hope-Crystal Business Networking group. It gives business owners an opportunity to make new connections.
“We want to get to know the other businesses in the community so down the road we can hopefully work together,” Lynnes said.
Starting pay for welders in the manufacturing field can be more than $20-per-hour.
For construction site welders, wages can start at more than $30-per-hour.
