New Hope Police Warn Against Leaving Cars Running Unattended
Police say two cars have already been stolen in New Hope because people chose to warm up cars with keys left in the ignition. If you must do this, police ask you to stay with your car.
“In November, we’ve already seen two cars stolen that owners had left running with the keys in them,” said officer Nichole Korth with New Hope Police. “We have had at least one car stolen that was parked overnight, but had a spare key left inside.”
In some cities, like Brooklyn Center, it’s against the law to leave your car running with the keys inside.
