New Hope Dentist Offers Free Dental Care Through Give Kids a Smile
A New Hope dental team will be volunteering Saturday to put a smile on kids that are underserved.
Gentle Dentistry on 42nd Ave. N. is participating in the annual Give Kids a Smile program. The program was developed by the Minnesota Dental Association.
Volunteers will provide free dental services for children in need, including cleaning.
“It’s really amazing to think that 1 in 4 children, age 2 to 11 already have decay in their baby teeth and have no access to dental care. And dental disease for children is a much bigger issue for children than even asthma for children,” said Bette Fenton with Gentle Dentistry.
So far, Gentle Dentistry will be serving 50 children who don’t have access to dental care. Walk-ins will also be allowed on Saturday.
