New Hope Car Wash First To Use Recycled Water
A car wash in New Hope has become the first in the state to use recycled water.
“Now Mart Gas and Groceries” opened its car wash 3 weeks ago on Bass Lake Road.
The business installed Aqua Bio Technologies to its car wash. The new system removes used chemicals from the water, which allows 95 percent of it to be reused.
“A busy car wash you can use 4 million gallons in a year,” explains Chris Robbins, Now Mart Owner. “What we’re able to do with our car system is for many months out of the years, we’ll not use any water at all, at least not city water. So we’re restoring it all on-site and are able to reuse that in the wash process.”
Robbins said rainwater from the property will be captured, filtered and channeled to underground tanks that can hold 100,000 gallons of water.
