New Crystal Clinic Seeks to Serve Multicultural Patient Base
A new primary care clinic has opened in Crystal that seeks to serve the area’s diverse community.
Odam Medical Group opened its Crystal facility two weeks ago.
Located on the site of the former Rostamo’s Bar and Grill, which was demolished in July, the clinic offers x-rays, physical exams, pediatric services and vaccinations.
The clinic’s CEO and medical director, Dr. Robert Odam, says they treat people with a wide variety of ailments. Those range from acute illnesses like coughs and sore throats to chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension.
Dr. Odam says the clinic’s ample parking and close proximity to Minneapolis make it an ideal location for many of its patients. He also says offering face-to-face primary care with a physician is something patients can relate to.
“Our philosophy is listen, listen, listen to the patient and try and meet their needs and make sure that they are able to go to work, have a good time with their family, at least know their health care issues will be addressed completely, ” said Dr. Odam.
The clinic sees insured and uninsured patients. It also has a multilingual team with communication offered in a number of languages including Somali, Arabic, Spanish, Hmong, Vietnamese and Swahili.
A grand opening for the clinic is planned in April.
