Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Maple Grove Helps Mother With Diapers
Basic necessities like diapers continue to fly off the shelves at local stores due to the novel coronavirus.
Chelsea Potvin from Maple Grove told CCX she struggled to find diapers for her 1-year-old son named Cooper.
Potvin went to three local stores with no luck.
“I’m not one to panic, but when I went to the third store and there was no diapers I experienced a little panic. So that’s why I decided to go on the Maple Grove Community Facebook page,” explained Potvin.
Just two hours after Potvin posted about her needs, residents she’s never met came pouring in at her front door. Now Potvin has over a month’s worth of diapers.
“I was shocked at how many responses I got,” Potvin said. “It makes my heart so full. The news is all negative and it’s scary when you reach out to the community and there’s so many people pouring their heart out to you and giving to you.”
Potvin said it’s a good reminder that there is still love in the world and people still care.
