‘Natural Antidepressant’: Indulge & Bloom Flower Shop Makes Maple Grove Debut
A floral business that’s been serving the metro for years has set down roots in Maple Grove.
Indulge & Bloom, which previously had two locations in Minneapolis and one at the Mall of America, has reopened in the strip mall located at 13712 83rd Way.
It’s a rebrand for the spot occupied by Maple Grove Floral.
“We expanded to 3,000 square feet,” said owner Raed Kakish. “It is very exciting [to open in Maple Grove] because it’s such a different dynamic. But honestly, it’s the same thing with my clients at the other shops — they followed us here. It’s really the people, and it’s getting to know their names, seeing their faces, not just one time and being gone. But it’s the regulars.”
Kakish founded Indulge & Bloom in the 1990s. It’s best known for its wedding arrangements.
“I wanted it to be something that came from each of the coasts — Chicago — so I actually toured the country looking at shop after shop after shop, and then looked at shops in Europe and brought that whole thing to Maple Grove,” he said. “It’s trend-forward, but in the end, it’s about our client. And there’s always exotic flowers here. There’s always fun, different things. So, it’s really for people to get something and say, ‘oh my gosh, it’s not just a basic floral arrangement.’ But there’s a fun flower in there, there’s something that has scent in there.”

‘Natural Antidepressant’
While Indulge & Bloom often provides arrangements for large corporate events and weddings, it also offers smaller bouquets.
“You can get one flower. You can buy one centerpiece, one arrangement, have one arrangement delivered, or you can get an entire wedding done,” Kakish said. “Flowers [are] a mood changer. It’s actually a natural antidepressant. When people get flowers, you should see the smile on their face.”
