Mother Says Body Found in Maple Grove Is Her Missing Son
The community is mourning after police found a deceased person in a Maple Grove neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
The mother of Nathaniel Chambers, a 17-year-old who was missing in the Maple Grove area, said in a Facebook post that the person found was her son.
“It is with a sad heart that I have to tell you my son’s body was found in the woods along a bike trail we frequented in our neighborhood,” Sheila Chambers wrote. “He is no longer with us. Now at least we have closure although my heart is breaking. Thank you everyone for your efforts. We will hear from the medical examiner later today and will plan funeral arrangements that I will post later if you’d like to attend. Please give us time to grieve and some privacy. Love to all of you.”
In a Facebook post, police say they found the body in a wooded area in the 7200 block of Teakwood Lane.
The cause of death is not yet released. Police say there is “no evidence of criminal activity” connected to the case.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office will officially release the identity of the person, cause and manner of death.
