Minnesota’s Largest Coin Show Returns to Brooklyn Center This Weekend
After a year off, the MOON Coin Show returns to Brooklyn Center on Friday. The show is Minnesota’s largest coin show.
The show is sponsored by the Minnesota Organization of Numismatists (MOON).
“You can find A to Z at this. There will be everything from all the bullion products that you can think of. Many, many of the collector type coins, because all the dealers are involved in that. Also this year were going to have a Rolex dealer. He is a watch dealer that deals in high-end watches and stuff. Besides that we’ll have two of the Midwest largest supply dealers for coins and currency. And actually stamp supplies as well,” said Lee Orr, owner of Great Lakes Coins and Collectibles.
Orr is also a member of the Minnesota Organization of Numismatists serving as the bourse master for the MOON show.
Renewed interest
Orr said there has been a strong resurgence in coin collecting as well as buying bullion during the past year. He’s seen many new collectors enter the market and veteran collectors renew interest in their collections. Orr said prices reflected in online auctions show a strong demand overall. He said the market is the strongest he’s seen in the last 15 years.
There will be 116 tables with nearly 100 dealers from around the country buying and selling coins and bullion.
The MOON Coin Show starts at noon on Friday at the Earle Brown Heritage Center, 6155 Earle Brown Drive Brooklyn Center, MN 55430. Hours are:
