Memorial Blood Centers Need Blood, Expands Holiday Hours
A local blood center needs your help saving lives.
There is less than a one-day supply of most blood types at Memorial Blood Centers.
To makeup for the lost collections on Christmas and New Year’s, donation hours will be extended at the St. Paul and Plymouth locations.
“We need over 2,000 donors every single week to meet the needs of over 30 hospital partners here in Minnesota and Wisconsin. So, it’s really a challenge to get people to come in when they’re busy or they might be sick,” said Erica Buege with Memorial Blood Centers. “The need for blood doesn’t take a holiday, so we really do need donors every day both blood and platelets.”
Memorial Blood Centers in St. Paul and Plymouth will be open from 7:30 – 1 p.m. on December 22 and 29.
Every donor this month will be entered to win a Winter getaway for two.
All donors between Dec. 20 and Jan. 4 will receive a limited edition long-sleeve shirt.
Platelet donors on Dec. 22 and 29 will be handed a $10 gift card.
