Maple Grove’s Surge Cycling Creates ‘Big Family’ to Survive Pandemic
Surge Cycling owners Zion Wu Anderson and Kenneth Anderson reimagined their Maple Grove cycling studio after the pandemic impacted the business.
“The pandemic, that was a monkey wrench,” said Zion Wu Anderson, co-owner and instructor.
The studio started renting its bikes.
“Within two weeks, we rented out all of them,” said Kenneth Anderson, co-owner. “I was driving a box truck by myself in the rain delivering bikes.”
It has since returned to offering 45-minute in-person classes.
“It’s like a huge, big family,” said Kenneth.
The studio is located on Hemlock Lane.
