Maple Grove’s Project Prom gives away dresses
Organizers have collected more than two thousand dresses to give away to high school students. Between March 22 and the 24th, they expect hundreds of young women to pick up dresses as part of Project Prom. The store is set up at the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes, in the old Coldwater Creek store.
“Year after year we get more interest from girls who have come,” says Jeni Asaba, organizer of Project Prom. “Then they come back and bring their friends.”
Project Prom is aimed at making sure girls can afford to go to Prom. Participants must preregister to get a dress. If you’d like a dress, register at the Project Prom website.
