Maple Grove’s Card My Yard Makes a Statement During Pandemic
A Maple Grove business that installs giant personalized signs in people’s yards is booming because of the pandemic.
Card My Yard is a franchise that began 6 years ago in Texas. Prior to COVID-19, there were about 100 locations nationwide, now there are about 400. One of those locations in Maple Grove.
Casey Pierce bought the Maple Grove franchise a few months ago. She saw a need for it, since the pandemic wasn’t allowing people to gather for celebrations. People were hosting birthday parades and decorating yards for celebrations and milestones.
“Especially right now, it just seemed like the right time to do it,” said Pierce. “The pandemic, it’s been a tough time for people and it’s a nice way to be able to let somebody know you’re caring about them. Even if you can’t be with them, you can still put a smile on their face.”
Pierce said since September, she’s already installed more than 100 signs and she continues to get more requests.
“I had somebody tell me one day, with the sign that they ordered for a friend, that their friend just cried with joy because she was going through a tough time. It really touched her heart. That’s the reason why I love doing this,” Pierce explained.
In total, Minnesota has five Card My Yard locations.
