According to the criminal complaint, the shooting occurred in March 2020 after the couple got into a fight and Butler allegedly punched her. The incident happened in Clark’s Maple Grove apartment in the 6200 block of Magda Drive.
The complaint also said the incident happened in front of Clark’s 5-year-old son.
A jury convicted Clark after more than four hours of deliberations.
Per Minnesota sentencing guidelines, Clark received the presumptive sentence of 306 months. The state requested a maximum sentence of 367 months. Clark will receive 124 days of credit for time already served.
