Maple Grove Transit Creates New Mobility Hub
Just in time for the Minnesota State Fair, Maple Grove Transit has opened up a brand new mobility hub at the Maple Grove Transit Station.
The new hub will better coordinate the many different travel options, including ride-sharing services, transit and biking.
“With the pandemic happening, we definitely recognized the need to pivot,” said Mike Opatz, transit administrator. “We might not have the strongest commuter market any more, so it was a good time to think about how we can use this facility, how can we embrace the change in mobility habits and patterns.”
Maple Grove Transit officials say commuting is down about 50 percent from what it was pre-pandemic, but they expect it to bump up after Labor Day.
There’s also charging stations for electric vehicles.
