Maple Grove Republican Sen. Warren Limmer To Retire
A lawmaker who has represented Maple Grove in the state Senate and House of Representatives for nearly 40 years is retiring.
Officials with the Senate Republican Caucus told CCX News that Sen. Warren Limmer (R-Maple Grove) has announced his retirement.
Limmer was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1988, and served there until 1994.
He was then elected to the Senate in 1995 and has served 10 terms.
His retirement announcement comes ahead of the November 2026 election, where he would have faced DFLer and Maple Grove City Council Member Kristy Janigo.
Limmer recently appeared in a CCX Newsmakers segment, saying he expected fraud to be a major issue facing the legislature.
“This is a headline no one in Minnesota wants to hear,” he said. “This has been going on for years and the legislature is getting frustrated over the lack of attention by the administration, the executive branch of government.”
CCX News has reached out to Limmer for comment, but he hadn’t yet responded when this story was published.
