Maple Grove Police Ask For Help IDing Hit-And-Run Suspect
Officials with the Maple Grove Police Department are asking the public for help identifying a suspect in a recent hit-and-run.
According to Cmdr. Jon Wetternach, officers were dispatched to the crash at 8 a.m. on Oct. 2.
The crash, which occurred at an intersection in front of Walmart and Sam’s Club, involved a motorcyclist and an SUV.
Police believe the SUV, which was driven by the suspect, is a newer-model black Dodge Durango.
The two vehicles collided, leaving the female motorcyclist with serious but non-life threatening injures. She’s lost her leg due to to the crash.
After the incident, the Dodge Durango fled the scene.
“If there’s anybody that was witness to it at that time on Oct. 2 that has any information — whether it’s a description of a suspect, did they see the vehicle, did you happen to be using your cell phone where you captured video — anything that you can provide will be helpful to the investigation,” said Police Chief Eric Werner.
