Maple Grove Pilot Killed in Indiana Plane Crash
Law enforcement authorities say a Maple Grove man died on April 11 in an out-of-state plane crash.
Alexander Foss, 20, was piloting a single-engine plane when he crashed in a field in West Lafayette, Indiana.
According to the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office, Foss was the only person on the plane when it crashed.
Police officials located the crash on April 12 and found a body, later identified as Foss.
Investigators with the Indiana State Police used DNA evidence to confirm his identity.
According to the coroner, Foss was a student at Purdue University.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Transportation Safety Board and other authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
The FAA says Foss was flying a Piper PA-28 when he crashed near the Purdue University Airport.
