Maple Grove Middle School Evacuated After Bomb Threat
Maple Grove Middle School was evacuated Thursday afternoon following a bomb threat.
According to the school’s website, law enforcement was alerted to a bomb threat made by telephone to the school this afternoon.
All students were evacuated and are safe, according to the Maple Grove Police Department.
Police are investigating the threat. The process is expected to take several hours, and as a result, the rest of the school day and all after-school activities were canceled.
Students were evacuated to St. Joseph’s Church, at 7180 Hemlock Lane N. They will be taken home by bus at the school’s normal dismissal time.
Parents can also pick their students up at the church.
“We have been very pleased with the cooperation of our students and staff,” the school wrote in a website alert. “The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority. It takes all of us working together to do this.”
MGPD is currently investigating a bomb threat at Maple Grove Middle School. All students are safe. No known risks at this time as we assess the threat. Further info will be sent when available.
