Maple Grove Mayor Named to Met Council’s Transportation Advisory Board
Mayor Mark Steffenson of Maple Grove is now a member of the Met Council’s Transportation Advisory Board. In that position, he’ll help oversee all manners of transit issues, from buses to light rail, to the roads themselves. One project he’s getting started on right away is the 2040 plan, which will anticipate needs in the transportation system 20 years from now.
“Looking forward in time to where this transportation plan should go and sort of what the buildout should be between now and then,” said Steffenson.
The mayor says he’s looking forward to providing better representation for the Northwest Suburbs on the board.
