Maple Grove Police Hold Meeting on Home Invasion Case
Maple Grove police are informing the public about a recent burglary-home invasion case.
Police say the incident occurred June 11th, at home in the 16800 block of 80th Place North. A woman was at home when a man forced his way inside. He demanded she hand over her purse and vehicle. Police hope that by discussing this case, they can jog someone’s memory, or prevent similar crimes for happening.
“Whenever we have significant cases, or there’s a trend in certain types of cases, we like to get our community together and provide them an update on the case,” said Chief Eric Werner. “As well as, are there any trends, or also crime prevention tips. So, this isn’t the first time we’ve done this, and we just don’t do it that frequently.”
Maple Grove Police recovered the car, but the suspect is still on the loose.
The description is very vague: Black male, early ’20s 5’2″ to 5’4″, stocky build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and grey cargo pants.
A community meeting takes place this Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Rush Creek Elementary School.
