Maple Grove Hires New Fire Chief
There’s a new leader taking the reins at the Maple Grove Fire Department.
Maddison Zikmund was hired as Maple Grove’s new fire chief.
The city council signed off on his hire this week.
Zikmund was previously fire chief in Fridley and has spent more than 13 years in the fire service. He also has been in leadership roles with the Spring Lake Park, Blaine and Mounds View fire departments.
“In addition, he has served in either part-time or contract work with various ancillary fire service organizations such as the MN State Fire Chiefs Association, the National Fire Academy, the MN Fire Service Certification Board and many others,” wrote Maple Grove city staff in a memo to the council. “We are excited about the skills and leadership Maddison will bring and look forward to him joining the team.”
Maple Grove hasn’t had a permanent fire chief since it parted ways with former Chief Tim Bush in September 2024.
