Maple Grove Girl Packs Food for Hungry
Feed My Starving Children is inviting 5,000 volunteers to pack a million meals at the State Fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday.
“The need is the greatest I’ve ever seen it this year,” explained CEO Mark Crea from Feed My Starving Children. “Between the natural disasters, refugees, and just the normal hungry people we are feeding.”
The event is a collaboration between the nonprofit, Adult Teen Challenge, and Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities.
A girl from Maple Grove, Aubrey Steel, is one of the volunteers who has a heart for helping others.
“They can actually run around and play, play with friends,” said volunteer Aubrey Steel. “They don’t ever have to worry about food and they can get strong again. They can know that there is hope and it’s really nice to know that.”
