Maple Grove Transit Proposes Fare Hike for MY RIDE Service
Maple Grove is proposing a fare increase for its Dial-a-Ride service called “My Ride.” The base fare would go up from $1.75 to $3. But they would offer a deep discount for riders using a 10-ride punch ticket or the 10-ride token transit mobile fare app. Maple Grove Transit hopes to reduce the use of cash, which officials say increases the risk of mistakes and lack of payment. They also say the increase would put fares more in line with similar Dial-a-Ride programs.
The city of Maple Grove is receiving comments about the proposed fare hike up until August 1.
