Maple Grove Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Volunteers Pack Gifts for Troops
Volunteers in Maple Grove found a way to express thanks to troops who are serving the country. Over two dozen residents from Beyond the Yellow Ribbon and Great River Energy put together care packages at Weaver Lake Elementary School.
The boxes will be sent to military personnel overseas. The packages have plenty of things that the troops can use such as personal hygiene items, sauces, candy cookies, magazines and other stuff.
“We’re doing 250 boxes,” said Joel Skagerberg from Beyond the Yellow Ribbon in Maple Grove. “We’ve been collecting things from all over Maple Grove. Everything we are packing today has been donated. It’s really a good cause. Hopefully they’ll get them by Christmas.”
Maple Grove residents donated all of the items in the care packages.
