Maple Grove Arts Center Reopens to Public
The Maple Grove Arts Center is back.
“Yeah we’ve been closed for a year and a half due to the COVID situation here,” said Teri Iverson. She’s the gallery director at the Maple Grove Arts Center. “We’re so happy to be back.”
The Maple Grove Arts Center is back open for classes and the public. It even has a new show up on the walls.
“This show is 25 artists, 48 pieces. Each artist is able to enter two pieces because we were unsure about the restrictions before July 1st,” said Iverson.
When the Maple Grove Arts Center put out the call for the show the response was enthusiastic.
“Obviously 25 artists, we don’t have that many artists in a lot of our shows. We’re a small gallery. So it was great to see how many people were interested and willing to jump right back into showing,” said Iverson.
The show is free for members and there isn’t a specific theme. Iverson didn’t restrict or limit entries in any way. As a result, she’s got oil, acrylic and water color paintings, quilts, jewelry and wooden art.
And if you see something you like. You’re in luck.
“There’s only two pieces that aren’t for sale. And that artist, they’re just more sentimental to her. But everything else is for sale. And the new thing that we’ve started thanks to COVID, is that we’re posting everything online,” said Iverson.
So you can shop online but seeing in person is always best. The show is up at the gallery through August 20th. More information can be found on the Maple Grove Art Center website.
