Man Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting ID’D
Brooklyn Center police officers are on paid administrative leave after shooting and killing a man Saturday. Neighbors say the man was threatening his grandparents with a hammer. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the man Tuesday as 21-year-old Kobe Dimock-Heisler of Brooklyn Center.
When officers arrived shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, they encountered Dimock-Heisler and a struggle with officers occurred. That’s when Dimock-Heisler was shot and killed by police. Authorities say all officers involved were wearing body cameras. The officers have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard practice.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is conducting an independent investigation.
