Lizzo Gives Social Media ‘Shout Out’ to Osseo Middle School
Grammy Award-winning artist Lizzo gave a special “shout-out” to Osseo Middle School students for suggesting a snowplow be named in her honor.
“I just heard I have won the name a snow plow competition in Minnesota,” Lizzo announced Sunday on social media.
Ann Mack’s sixth grade class at Osseo Middle School submitted the name ‘Blizzo’ for MnDOT’s annual Name a Snowplow Contest and it received 14, 935 votes to win the Twin Cities Metro District. This is the third year MnDOT has held the contest to name its new snowplows and ‘Blizzo’ received the second most votes of the 60 finalists.
Lizzo, who started her recording career in Minneapolis, thanked the Osseo Middle School students on Twitter for “by far the highest honor.”
