Klevorn Defeats Incumbent Anderson for District 44A Seat
District 44A state representative candidate Ginny Klevorn (DFL) has won the Nov. 6 midterm race against incumbent Republican rival Sarah Anderson.
Klevorn unsuccessfully challenged Anderson in the 2016 race. She said her decision to run a second time was based on needs she says were not being met in her community, and that early listening sessions drove the work she did this time around.
“I had an opportunity, and we built a good base. I thought if I have a chance to serve my community for two years, then I’ll do it again,” she told CCX reporter Meredith Hackler following her victory. “Running the first time, I wasn’t sure how to be a candidate. I had always worked on campaigns before, but not in a candidate role. The second time around, I felt like I knew my community even better.”
Anderson has represented District 44A since 2007.
