Joe Biden Sends Letter to Park Center Student
A Park Center High School student is on cloud nine after receiving a letter from former Vice President Joe Biden.
It all came about after freshman Christian Haack took part in a national school walkout geared to end gun violence on April 20.
In order for the 9th grader to leave school that day, his mom required that he do something worthy with his time. So Haack decided to write letters to national and local lawmakers. One of those letters went to Biden.
“I would like it if you would use your political ties to push to improve background checks on gun buyers and yearly checks on gun owners,” Haack wrote in the letter to Joe Biden.
Unexpected Reply From Vice President Joe Biden
Haack didn’t expect to get a reply back, but when he did, it came in the form of a handwritten letter from Biden.
“On the back, he wrote: I’m proud of you,” said Haack.
The letter is now in a frame. The young teen suspects Biden wrote back quickly because he sent the letter directly to his home address and not his office.
Haack isn’t done with his quest to end gun violence. In fact, he’s just getting started.
“We have to fight it, we have to make it a better system,” said Haack. “I’m going to keep researching, keep fighting, and participate in more walkouts if we have them, participate in all protests fighting gun violence.”
