Impaired Driver Hits School Bus in Brooklyn Park
Police in Brooklyn Park say a crash involving a school bus on Monday was caused by an impaired driver.
According to a community alert, Brooklyn Park police responded at 9:52 a.m. to a report of a vehicle crash near 97th and Penn avenues.
Callers reported that a car had struck a school bus.
Police arrived on the scene and found that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash. Only the driver was on the bus, police said.
Police say the suspect car left the scene of the crash before officers arrived.
Officers found and arrested the driver a short distance away from the crash. The driver could likely face charges following the incident.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Brooklyn Park Police Department in investigating the crash.
