Hotels Offer Rooms, Suites at Cost to Essential Workers
Local hotels are offering hotel rooms and suites at cost to families of essential workers or to anyone with special circumstances in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.
TPI Hospitality operates 23 hotels across the Twin Cities metro, including several hotels in Maple Grove and one in Golden Valley.
They made the decision last week to rent rooms at cost to people still working in essential services, whether it’s healthcare or grocery stores and delivery services that may be in higher contact with the general public and may have concerns about going home to their families. The rooms are also available to people with special circumstances. For example, a person may work with the public and be concerned about going home to live with a family member who may be vulnerable to infection.
This service is specifically meant to assist in limiting the potential spread of COVID-19 by providing community members with separate accommodations from a family member who is under quarantine.
Most of the rooms utilized for this cause are actually suites, that have kitchenettes. The cost is $55.
