Hennepin Healthcare Expands in Brooklyn Park
The Hennepin Healthcare Clinic in Brooklyn Park is wrapping up a major expansion project.
In 2018, the Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center clinics merged services, but the Brooklyn Park clinic did not expand in size.
“We had to send [patients] to other facilities, which was a real hardship for our patients” explained Brenda Kennelly, clinic manager. “So, as soon as we were able to finish the first step of our build in February, we were able to add our PT (physical therapy) and our OT (occupational therapy). Then, we slowly added other rooms, so our chiropractor and acupuncturist could join us as well.”
Clinic space has more than doubled.
“We’ve added a lot more specialties and a lot more of our primary care providers here,” said Kennelly. “We can offer a lot more visits to our patients each day.”
There are now 48 exam rooms, a therapy gym, and an on-site pharmacy.
Before the addition, people who were on the Hennepin Healthcare low income prescription plan had to go to another location to fill medicine.
The public can check out the space at an open house on September 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
