Hennepin County Receives Grant Money to Improve Water in Local Creeks
Hennepin County received a grant to improve the waters of two local creeks.
Rush Creek and Elm Creek do not meet water quality standards. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency considers them impaired.
Hennepin County and the Elm Creek Watershed received a grant of more than $140,000 from the Clean Water Legacy Fund to help clean up the waterways.
They will work to reduce bacteria and sediment from getting into the creeks and washing downstream.
