Hamel VFW Gets Bathroom Makeover
Volunteers from Plymouth’s Beyond the Yellow Ribbon and Home Depot remodeled the restrooms inside the Hamel VFW this week. The volunteers brought the restrooms up to ADA code and later this year, they’ll add a family restroom.
“We have had eight volunteers from the VFW that put in an estimated 350 man hours doing all the preparatory work,” explained Bernie Stein with the VFW. “We had 16 fine people from Home Depots from throughout the metro area (like four or five different stores) to come today and assist us with the installation of the final materials.”
Stein says crews gutted the rooms and installed the new stalls, plumbing and hardware in the same day. Specifically, crews put in partitions to bring them up to ADA code as well as installed vanities, faucets and new toilets.
