Great Kindness Challenge issued to Plymouth Students
Students at Zachary Lane Elementary walked through a tunnel of clapping and cheering teachers and community members on Monday morning. The surprise was one of the first events for the Great Kindness Challenge, which has events and lessons all week that encourage students to be kind.
“Kindness isn’t just about this week, we want it to last,” says Kelly Kudla, assistant principal. “It really is a platform for what we’re talking about throughout the year. We don’t just focus on academics here we also want our kids to grow as community members and as citizens.”
Students will also be rewarded for displaying acts of kindness, like helping a younger student or saying thank you.
