Golden Valley’s Courage Kenny Has A History of Helping, Healing
Several cities in the northwest metro are making efforts to become more ADA compliant. One local organization has been a trailblazer in providing services and opportunities for people with disabilities. The Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute has been serving the metro area since the early 1940s.
“It gives you renewed hope I would say,” says Paula Davidovich, a Courage Kenny Patient. “There are always making advances in medicine and this is one way I can keep my body ready for whatever comes next.”
Physical therapy is just one of the many services Courage Kenny offers. They also offer life skill classes that aren’t readily available anywhere else.
“One of the strengths of a place like this is that we help arm individuals with disabilities,” says Brian LeLoup, with Courage Kenny. “We show these individuals how to be advocates for themselves. It’s connecting them with the resources they may need and connecting them with their voice.”
Patients also connect with others who may be just learning to live with a disability, which helps them live more independently. For more information about Courage Kenny click here.
