Golden Valley’s Brookview Could be Emergency Shelter
The city of Golden Valley has entered into an agreement with the Red Cross so that Brookview could be used as a shelter in case of an emergency.
There are more than 40 shelters in the Twin Cities that the Red Cross can use when disaster strikes. Using Brookview would only be temporary. The Red Cross would have to leave the facility in the same shape as it found it.
Pets would not be allowed in the shelter at Brookview. They would be sheltered in an emergency pet trailer nearby.
