Golden Valley Softball Field Upgrades Planned for Summer
Softball players will see improvements at three ball fields in Golden Valley this summer. Improvements are scheduled for Wesley, Lions and Schaper Parks.
Golden Valley received a ninety-six thousand dollar grant through the Hennepin County Youth Sports program to help fund the project. Improvements will include replacing dugouts and adding roofs, as well as putting in new fencing and improving drainage.
The Golden Valley Girls Softball Association agreed to commit ten thousand dollars to the project. The total cost is one hundred sixty-one thousand. Golden Valley capital improvement funds will cover the rest.
