Golden Valley Police Investigate Second Possible Luring Incident
The Golden Valley Police Department is investigating another suspicious vehicle incident in which the driver appeared to follow a junior high school girl after she got off the school bus Friday afternoon.
The girl told police she was being followed near Lions Park in Golden Valley. Officers say it’s the second time someone reported of a suspicious car in that same area.
The vehicle is described as a blue mid-sized sedan driven by a white man in his 30s with brown hair. Officers said the driver was wearing a brown hoodie that was partially pulled up.
Golden Valley police spoke with the bus company, the school district and searched the neighborhood for any surveillance cameras. Authorities told CCX there have been some leads but wouldn’t go into details.
Police are encouraging parents to talk to their kids to come up with a safety plan.
“As far as just knowing their surroundings, knowing what belongs and what doesn’t belong in the area of their home, possibly having contact with neighbors too just so neighbors are aware so kids know of safe places they can potentially go to if they do see this type of behavior in the area,” said Golden Valley police Detective Jerad Zachman.
Investigators are asking anyone who lives in the area and has surveillance video of the car to call the Golden Valley Police Department.
