Golden Valley Police Investigate Home Invasion, Stolen Bulldog Puppies
Golden Valley police are investigating a home invasion and robbery from the weekend that resulted in more than $100,000 in stolen goods, including several American bulldog puppies.
According to police, it happened Saturday evening at a home in the 6300 block of Medicine Lake Road. Investigators say an acquaintance of a family in the home was visiting and then let in a group of other people–whom the family doesn’t know–that had a gun. Police say that group began tying up the family and demanding access to a safe.
Police say the group of assailants made off with more than $100,000 worth of stolen goods including jewelry, gaming systems, purses, a 2019 Dodge Challenger and eight merle-coated American Bulldog puppies, valued at as much as $10,000 apiece.
“This isn’t’ something where people in the community need to be concerned about ‘Hey, will this happen to me?'” Chief Virgil Green said on Wednesday. “This is a pretty well isolated incident.”
Chief Green said officers had located the stolen car already and he felt confident they’d be able to track down those responsible very soon. He also said the suspects were captured on video by surveillance cameras at the home.
