Golden Valley Nonprofit Gearing Up to Help Hurricane Ida Survivors
Headwaters Relief Organization in Golden Valley is ready to deploy to New Orleans to help survivors of Hurricane Ida.
The nonprofit runs a resource center in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward that was set up in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina.
After search and rescue operations are complete, volunteers from Headwaters are expected to head south to help.
“It’s a challenge always and after any major form of disaster, the number of volunteers is limited but the good thing is people are welcoming those relief efforts and contributing toward it,” said Roshan Katari with the organization.
The relief organization is also helping earthquake victims in Haiti, which means they are very busy right now.
