Golden Valley Dairy Queen Installs Giant Selfie Spoon
The Golden Valley Dairy Queen installed a large selfie-spoon outside of the restaurant as a way to usher in summer.
The owner saw it at a corporate store and couldn’t resist.
“I thought that would be a great addition to our little old-fashioned DQ because the spoon is taller than the building almost,” said Dan Lohman, owner.
Besides the giant selfie-spoon, he also installed spoons that make for fun door pulls.
The outside isn’t the only thing that’s fresh at DQ.
Dilly bars are made at the Golden Valley location every day, and longtime employee Joseph Ferris says not every location can say that.
“Actually it’s just a local tradition here. There’s a few stores here and there that do it, but it’s really rare now,” said Ferris. “I sell out almost every day, so every day I’m constantly making new ones.”
The Golden Valley Dairy Queen is located near the intersection of Winnetka Ave. and Medicine Lake Road.
