Four Hospitalized In Rollover As SUV Hits Brooklyn Park Police Squad Vehicle
Four people were hospitalized after an SUV crashed into a Brooklyn Park Police Department squad vehicle on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, two of the people that were hurt were in a Brooklyn Park police squad car.
In a press release, Brooklyn Park police confirmed that police department staff were injured, but did not specify if they were police officers or non-sworn staff.
CCX News reached out to the department for clarification.
Per Brooklyn Park police, a squad car was was responding to an emergency with its lights on and siren activated around 3:20 p.m.
The squad car was headed westbound on 85th Avenue when it was struck by a Chevy Equinox headed southbound on Zane Avenue, a spokesperson for the State Patrol said.
The squad car rolled over, striking another vehicle as it stopped at the intersection lights.
Two people in the Equinox and two people in the squad car were taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
