Food Donation Goal: 4,000 Pounds at New Hope ‘Fill-A-Truck’ Event
It’s a sure sign of the season of giving: the fourth annual “Fill-A-Truck” holiday donation drive.
Volunteers with Two Men and a Truck manned a truck outside Hy-Vee in New Hope on Tuesday asking shoppers to donate a few extra items for PRISM’s food shelf.
Sally Flinck, marketing director with Two Men and a Truck, said volunteers are hoping to go even bigger in the drive’s fourth year.
“It’s been very successful in the past. So we typically get about 2,000 pounds of food,” Flinck said. “This year, we’re really pushing our goals and hoping for about 4,000 pounds.”
Flinck said the need at PRISM only grows. The food shelf is seeing over 1,000 people a week.
The food drive went from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Nov. 19. If you weren’t able to make it, Flinck said you can bring donations to PRISM in Golden Valley. More information about PRISM and how you can help is available on its website.
