Fire Displaces Maple Grove Family
A Maple Grove family was displaced after a two-alarm fire damaged their home on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 23.
Maple Grove firefighters responded to the 9600 block of Alvarado Lane on a report of a car fire at approximately 9 a.m.
They found the garage fully engulfed in flames.
The fire spread and damaged some of the other living spaces in the eight-unit building.
“Crews were able to gain a primary knock-down of heavy fire within a short period of time, but experienced difficulty reaching isolated pockets of fire deep within the attic and other void spaces within the building,” said Maple Grove Fire Chief Tim Bush.
All residents in the building were evacuated and there were no injuries during the incident.
“There was some smoke damage throughout,” Bush said.
The Rogers Fire Department helped extinguish the fire. Meanwhile, the Golden Valley Fire Department brought a trailer to monitor firefighter health and provide rest between work cycles.
Bush said investigators do not believe arson was a factor in the fire, but are continuing to investigate.
