Plymouth Fire Destroys Home, Cause Under Investigation
A devastating fire just after 3 a.m. Tuesday left a Plymouth family without their home.
Fire departments from Plymouth and five nearby cities responded to the fire at the single-family home, located in the 300 block of Brockton Lane on the city’s west side. When fire crews arrived, flames had engulfed the entire house, which is considered a total loss. However, firefighters were able to keep the blaze form spreading to other homes.
“There’s a buffer,” said Plymouth Fire Chief Rodger Coppa. “The garage was not on fire so that was the closest neighbors’ house. So that did give us a buffer, but yeah the priority at that point was protecting the exposure to houses on either side.”
No one was injured.
The house was being remodeled at the time of the fire and no one was inside. The cause is being investigated by the Plymouth Fire Department.
