Final Stretch of In-Person Voting for Brooklyn Park Mayoral Primary
In less than a week, Brooklyn Park residents will find out who the top two candidates are in the Brooklyn Park mayoral race.
Seven candidates are running int he primary to replace Jeff Lunde, who is now serving on the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners. Brooklyn Park City Clerk Devin Montero expects a 15 percent voter turnout. He said as of April 7, about 1,000 people did early voting.
The last day for early voting is April 12. The special primary election is Tuesday, April 13.
“We are open Saturday for early voting from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday is the last day of early voting from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. On election day voting polling places open up at 7 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m,” said Montero.
The top two candidates will face off in the special election on Aug. 10. Absentee ballot voting for that election begins June 25.
