F45 Training Fitness Facility Opens in Plymouth
A new gym in Plymouth makes getting fit a team effort.
F45 Training, a southern California-style gym, already has one location in Maple Grove. Owners hope this location will be more convenient for some of their members.
“Everyone comes here for a purpose, you know,” said Jason Noeldner, the owner of F45 in Plymouth. “They maybe want to lose some weight, they want to grow some muscle. But at the end of the day, they need to be motivated.”
The name of the gym —F45 — stands for functional 45 minutes.
That is, the gym offers circuit-style, high-intensity interval training in 45 minute sessions. Coaches help to motivate the class as they move from station to station.
The Plymouth F45 location’s grand opening was on Saturday, Feb. 10.
“Already, you’ve seen it here — with the size of the classes that we have and the energy and excitement of folks,” Noeldner said, noting the busy class. “You really meet friends, at the end of the day.”
Noeldner said he and his wife were inspired to open their first studio in 2021 when they were looking for a change in pace. Nearly three years later, the second spot is going strong.
Community of Fitness
The challenging nature of the workouts at F45 help to build a sense of community.
“The workouts, I wouldn’t say are easy by any means,” Noelder said. “They challenge you. It’s what you put into it as well. But you want to motivate each other, too.”
According to Noelder, a lot of the success in F45 gyms is thanks to the trainers.
But, Noelder said it’s a also a better experience to exercise with others, side-by-side.
“It is probably my home away from home,” said said F45 member Ali Domeier. “I absolutely love it here. It’s hard to leave because it’s an amazing group of people and the workout is fantastic.”
Domeier travels from Fridley for her workout. She said it’s a commute she looks forward to every day.
James Murray is another founding member of the Plymouth club. He and his wife exercise together.
“I think working out with people and getting encouragement in a community is perfect,” Murray said. “Here, you get pushed past where you do it yourself, normally. I kind of need that where I’m at.”
The new location is at 3900 Vinewood Ave. N, off Rockwood Road and Interstate 494.
More information about the clubs and sign-up details are available on F45’s website.
