Enjoy Outdoor Theater at Maple Grove’s Town Green with ‘Once Upon a Mattress’
This weekend is an opportunity to witness theater outdoors at Maple Grove’s Town Green. It’s where Maple Grove-based Cross Community Players is putting on its version of “Once Upon a Mattress.”
Performances are tonight and Saturday, both at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
“Once Upon a Mattress” is a musical comedy based on the fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.”

Tickets cost $20 for seniors and students and $25 for adults when purchased online at crossplayers.org. Tickets at the door cost $25 for seniors and students and $30 for adults.
The rainout venue for the evening performances is Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Center. The rainout venue for the Sunday matinees is Advent Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.
Patrons are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item or a school supply for donation to CROSS Services. Sunglasses, bug spray and your favorite lawn chair are recommended for the outdoor show.
